I have been asked to be the guest speaker at the Monterey Bay PT Cruisers Ghost Cruise on Saturday, October 27th. We will be meeting for dinner at the Trout Farm Inn in Felton, where I will give a short lecture on the paranormal and paranormal investigations. From the restaurant we will "Curise" to the Big Trees Railroad where we all will get on the train for their "Ghost Train--Live the Legend of Sleep Hollow." The train will take us to Bear Mountain through a "spirited" redwood forest, and then follow Ichabod Crane as he tries to escape the Headless Horseman. Now, doesn't that sound like a lot of fun? After the train ride we will get back in our cruisers and drive to the Evergreen Cemetery in Santa Cruz where we will investigate for paranormal activity. It should be a fun evening, especially since we own a PT Cruiser! Look for information as to what we find at the cemetery on the website under the "Paranormal Investigations" in early November... and Happy Haunting!

This story is from Dawn L., the lady who has put together the PT Ghost Cruise and the investigation at the Evergreen Cemetery:
Here is one incident that happened when I and a couple of friends went to the Evergreen Cemetery. It was late at night and just us three in the cemetery. We couldn't bring ourselves to go very far in, the overall feeling that night was pretty ominous and while we were trying to decide what to do a shadow passed to the side of us and chilled us to the bone. We were the only three people there so it was obvious the movement didn't come from any of us. It was a very clear black shadow just as if someone did walk right by us and it just gave us caution to freeze and look at each other. Then, one of my friends had an overwhelming feeling that there was a man in a black suit that was angry with us and wanted to know why we were there and that we should leave. Now, the three of us were pretty brave and had experienced many frightening things together but, at this particular visit we felt we should respect this feeling and leave. My friend said he had felt like he had been touched on his arm and the feeling didn't dissapate till we were many miles away from the cemetery on our way home. I don't know if it was our collective suggestive mind but I know for certain something did cast a shadow that night of someone walking by. I do know that I find that the bigger the group the less activity has been experienced by the naked eye or senses and I am anxious to see what your equipment picks up there. If there are spirits there, which we have captured some evidence at different times to suggest so, I think they are angry because the local teenagers party there and practice black magic from time to time and I don't think that the spirits appreciate it. But all in all I think we should be safe.
This is very interesting, and I would love to go and see, as well.
.... This is curious, as everything I have heard seems to imply that cemetaries are fairly "ghost-free" places, given that spirits tend to attach to a familiar place that was their home, place of work, or what have you. Since no one 'lives' at the cemetary, it is interesting to find that there would be activity there at all.
However, I do not profess to be an expert on the matter, as the first spirit I have ever seen, I did not even see in person at the time, but in a photo I took. Also strange, I think.
We have some activity in our home, but I have not ever seen anything...only experienced the end results. I am eager to find out whether I even have the ability to see a spirit, so this cruise sounds fascinating....but it would be a fairly long trip for me (us)...
My 2 friends and I made a few trips to Evergreen as well.
I have a bad memory unless I write stuff down, but I do remember at one time feeling so overwhelmed. My other friend being more perceptive (being pregnant perhaps) felt awful and actually had to leave the cemetery, and wound up throwing up (something I'd never witnessed her do before! let alone on a ghost hunt). She had to go beyond the white fence, while I and my other friend continued on.
I on the other hand had this feeling that I wanted to stay and play, and got caught in this weird breeze, which was weird because the weather didn't permit any breezes.
I really can't remember all the experiences we had there, but I would love to go back.
After one of our many trips to Evergreen, we all had very vivid dreams. Mine telling me I must go back!
A while later (1-18-08), we went with our ghost hunting group (BAGH).
I don't think we actually caught any evp's, (having a bigger group of about 10 members, and some tech. difficulties with a tape recorder), but I do believe I have some solid orb photographs.
I don't really know where I'm going with this post, but here are some things I remember:
Our first visit there my friends saw a shadowy figure as we were approaching the cemetery (by car). It was so overpowering as we drove passed we didn't even stop the car to get out, and decided to leave.
Our second visit there we could feel something just by nearing the entrance. There were a few transients hanging out, so we didn't stay long.
I noticed the more and more I went back, the more "I" felt comfortable.
I would actually love to go back, except I don't think I feel safe enough going back (especially after the sun has gone down) alone. When there, sometimes I get the feeling of not being wanted, and other times I feel like I'm being getting used to. :)
I'm sorry for the sloppiness and unorganized thoughts of this post, but feel free to contact me with any questions.
btw...ever been to Old Holy Cross Cemetery? It's not listed, but it's the cemetery behind Holy Cross Cemetery. It's an abandoned one and I had a physical encounter there. While there, my 2 friends and I were so quiet and struck, we actually forgot to use our equipment!
