I had dinner at the Diamond Springs Hotel & Restaurant on Friday night. What a great experience. I mentioned to the waitress, Kathy, that I was a paranormal investigator and she brought one of the cooks, Leonard, to my table. After giving him one of my business cards,
Leonard took me on a tour of the locked rooms above the restaurant, where most of the paranormal activity takes place. Naturally, I didn't have any of my equipment with me! But I did feel very strong paranormal vibrations in certain rooms upstairs--in the bathroom I felt strongly that here was a presence. I also detected some paranormal activity taking place in the room to the left of the doorway and on the outside over the roof of the back of the building. Leonard told me that Nancy Bradley, local psychic and paranormal investigator, had also toured the building and said that the area where I felt strong paranormal activity is the exact spot where she felt a "Portal" or Vortex. Leonard then took me back inside the building underneath where Nancy and I felt activity, and I felt a presence in that area as well. Leonard relaid a story about a young lady patron who went into the woman's rest room and who came out screaming "Happy, Happy, Happy!" The poor child was petrified and refused to go back into the rest room when asked to do so by her parents. Leonard told me that "Happy" is reportedly the name of the little girl, one of the spirits who is believed to haunt the building.
They don't give access to anyone who asks, but they did for me because I proved to them that I was a genuine paranormal investigator. Many thanks for their cooperation. It was an experience that moved me long after I left the building. The owners also generously agreed to allow our 4-H YCT Historical Mapping project members to come back and do a full investigation of the building.

Ghost PT Cruise

I have been asked to be the guest speaker at the Monterey Bay PT Cruisers Ghost Cruise on Saturday, October 27th. We will be meeting for dinner at the Trout Farm Inn in Felton, where I will give a short lecture on the paranormal and paranormal investigations. From the restaurant we will "Curise" to the Big Trees Railroad where we all will get on the train for their "Ghost Train--Live the Legend of Sleep Hollow." The train will take us to Bear Mountain through a "spirited" redwood forest, and then follow Ichabod Crane as he tries to escape the Headless Horseman. Now, doesn't that sound like a lot of fun? After the train ride we will get back in our cruisers and drive to the Evergreen Cemetery in Santa Cruz where we will investigate for paranormal activity. It should be a fun evening, especially since we own a PT Cruiser! Look for information as to what we find at the cemetery on the website under the "Paranormal Investigations" in early November... and Happy Haunting!

I AGREE!

I totally agree with Udunnome. (Please see her last comment) I've seen several ghosts and all my sightings have taken place in the daylight. While it is true that paranormal activity can sometimes be more prevalent after it gets dark, this is only because life tends to slow down after dark, so people seem to be more quiet and susceptible to hearing nosies that are normally disregarded during a busy day.
Most people think of a ghost as a filmy mass that floats around a room. Although some ghosts have been photographed to look this way, the ghosts I've seen look as the did when they were alive, and not as milky ectoplasm. So, it doesn't matter what time of the day it is, if they are present, they can be seen.
Another reason that people associate the dark with ghosts is that many people are afraid of both, so they naturally assume that all "scary" things happen in the dark. Hogwash! That is another Hollywood created scare tactic. The more one studies the paranormal, the less frightening it becomes.
And again, Udunnome is correct that these television shows do not depict a true paranormal investigation. No one who is afraid of ghosts should be investigating them. A true professional knows enough about afterlife activity to understand it and not does not fear it, but is fascinated by it. "The only thing you have to fear, if fear itself!" Overcome the fear, and anything is possible.
